Why is building your email list Priority #1?

You can use Facebook messenger bot as a supplement to building your list but this does not replace the power of having an email list, at least not at this time.

Your email list helps you to accomplish building your audience, engaging your audience, and selling your audience.  These factors are why email marketing is still so critical for your business.

You can grow your audience on a variety of platforms and social media channels. No matter what anyone says Email Marketing is NOT dead.  There are some limitations and challenges with email marketing so let’s explore those.

Younger millennial’s don’t use email at least not in the same way as the older generations due. They prefer messaging apps.

We need to understand that open rates are decreasing.  Just go into your inbox and you can see that we are bombarded with emails every single day.  How do we get into our prospects inbox and have them read our emails.

Understand people have multiple email addresses which brings down the open rate. We use different emails for different programs.  For instance if I am opting into another marketers site, I use an email address that I don’t bother checking at all so those emails just stay there and are never looked at.  So you can see how the open rates are brought down because of this. Now there are some marketers that get my best email and there emails go right to my inbox.

You have to ask yourself how can I get people to give me their best email address so they see what I am sending to them.

We also must understand that emails are also not as engaging as social and messenger apps.

Now I just gave you the cons of email marketing.

Let me give you the benefits.

Your email leads are your most engaged audience and they will give you their best email if your marketing is done correctly.

Your email list is your #1 most valuable business asset because unlike social media you have control. Think about this, you can have those accounts shut down and that’s it your audience is lost.

So always build an email list. Even if your email providers shuts down you can download your leads and take them elsewhere.

Your email list is traffic and sales on demand.

I don’t have the exact number but a majority of online marketers state they wish they started building their email list sooner.

I’ve heard so many bloggers and email marketers say this, “I just wish I started my email list sooner”.

You need to start building your email list now.

Facebook is a social platform it is not a selling platform. If people are looking to buy something they go to YouTube for a review,  google for a search,or amazon to purchase something but they do not go to Facebook to buy anything.

People don’t want to get promotions to their social media.

4.24% of visitors from email marketing buy something as compared to 2.49% of visitors from search engines and 0.59% from Social Media – Monetate

Don’t get me wrong I like social media and you should have it part of your strategy. The last stat shows Marketers are spending way too much time on social media and not enough time building their email lists.  There are great ways to use social media, it is not the best way to sell things on line. Focus on email marketing. My last stat shows this.

Building your email lists should be the number one priority and if you build your lists correctly you can get traffic and sales on demand.
